Texas Party Turns Chaos: 800 Young Attendees Show Up After Host Only Invited Seven.
Shots Fired at Overcrowded Party in Selina, Texas
According to TSN.ua: A party in Selina, Texas, spiraled out of control after hundreds of uninvited guests showed up, leading to gunfire. Instead of the planned seven attendees, between 500 and 800 young people gathered, prompting multiple 911 calls reporting both the massive crowd and shots being fired. The event drew youths not only from Selina but also from Dallas and other surrounding areas. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though the rental home hosting the party suffered extensive damage.
The person who rented the property deliberately misled the owner about the event's purpose, claiming only seven people would attend. As the crowd swelled, the situation quickly became unmanageable.
“We started receiving 911 calls reporting shots fired.” — John Callison, police spokesperson
Callison also noted, “This wasn’t just Selina’s problem. It’s a problem for the entire metro area.”
This incident highlights the challenges local authorities face in regulating rented spaces used for large gatherings. The surge in young people attending such parties may signal a need for stricter oversight of these events.
In response, Selina officials plan to implement measures to prevent future incidents and ensure public safety.
