Man Dies After Detonating Grenade During Domestic Dispute in Cherkasy.

Deadly Explosion Shocks Cherkasy Community

According to TSN.ua: A 31-year-old man died on the spot after setting off a grenade following a domestic conflict in Cherkasy on March 14, around 8:30 PM. The blast occurred on Nadpilna Street, and according to preliminary reports, the man sustained fatal injuries before emergency services could arrive.

Law enforcement has launched a criminal investigation under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which covers intentional homicide with a suicide note, as well as Part 1 of Article 263, concerning the illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives. Fragments of the grenade were collected at the scene for forensic analysis.

Safety Concerns and Preventive Measures

This tragic event has raised alarm among local residents, especially after a similar incident in the Khmelnytskyi region, where a 10-year-old boy died from a grenade explosion inside a home.

These cases highlight ongoing safety issues with explosive devices in Ukraine, particularly during domestic disputes. Authorities are urged to step up public awareness campaigns about the dangers of illegally possessing weapons and explosives to prevent future tragedies.
