Alleged Assault in Kharkiv

According to TSN.ua: Kharkiv police are investigating an incident involving 54-year-old Vadym Rudyuk, who alleges he was beaten by personnel at a Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRC). The victim, a displaced person from Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast, reported the alleged unlawful use of physical force to police on February 23.

Vadym Rudyuk had worked for the State Emergency Service for over 30 years. He has health issues that led to his removal from military registration. Following the incident, he was documented with bruises, a concussion, and other injuries. According to the TRC, the incident occurred during measures to notify individuals liable for military service. The TRC stated that Rudyuk allegedly struck one of the servicemen.

The victim added that he was 'knocked down and several people started beating me. I asked them to call an ambulance, but there was no reaction.'

A criminal investigation has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the TRC, citizen Vadym Rudyuk 'behaved aggressively and attempted to assault members of the notification group.' Furthermore, on February 24, 2026, an incident involving the wounding of a TRC serviceman occurred in Kryvyi Rih. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be clarified during the proceedings.
