This follows a major attack on February 12 that initially left 2,600 buildings without heating. While service has been restored to 1,500 of those buildings, officials now state that restoring heat to the remaining 1,100+ multi-story buildings is technically impossible. This crisis highlights the severe and lasting damage inflicted on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure.

Kyiv's Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts are among the hardest hit. According to Kateryna Pop, numerous local system failures are being recorded across the capital. Utility crews continue emergency repair work in an effort to stabilize the city's heating supply under extremely challenging conditions.
