The largest flag of Ukraine has been lowered in Kyiv: the reason is a storm warning.
According to ТСН: The main flag of Ukraine has been lowered in Kyiv due to strong winds and snowstorms.
According to the Kyiv City State Administration, 'The largest flag of Ukraine, installed at the Memorial Complex “National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War”, will be lowered due to the forecast of worsening weather conditions.'
Weather forecast
Forecasters predict that on December 26 in Kyiv, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are expected (first level of danger, yellow). To protect the flag fabric from damage, it will remain lowered until the weather improves.
Height and dimensions of the flag
The flagpole on which the largest flag of Ukraine flies is located on the Pechersk hills. Its height is almost 90 meters, weight is 32 tons, and the size of the fabric is 16 by 24 meters.
On Friday, snowfalls are observed in the capital, and there are forecasts of ice and snowstorms. Residents of Kyiv are urged to dress warmly and be careful on the roads.
This situation indicates the need to adhere to safety measures during worsening weather conditions. The lowered flag is not only a symbol of respect for national symbols but also a response to nature's challenges. It is important for residents of Kyiv to be informed about weather changes and to take them into account during their daily activities.
