Drug Traffickers Arrested in Lviv

According to TSN.ua: Law enforcement officers in Lviv have shut down a significant narcotics distribution network, arresting a 28-year-old man and his 32-year-old female accomplice. The pair established their illegal operation in March 2023, organizing the supply of wholesale drug shipments. Ukraine has been intensifying efforts to combat organized crime, particularly drug trafficking, which often funds other illicit activities.

The arrests occurred as the male suspect attempted to dispatch another shipment. During the operation, police seized a substantial quantity of drugs, including:

  • 4 rolls containing cocaine;
  • 122 pre-packaged zip-lock bags of cocaine, with a total weight of approximately 200 grams;
  • 53 zip-lock bags of ecstasy, weighing roughly 100 grams.

The total street value of the confiscated narcotics is estimated at around 2 million Ukrainian hryvnias.

Investigators have formally notified both suspects of the charges against them, which include the illegal acquisition and possession of narcotics with intent to distribute. This case highlights the ongoing and active measures taken by police to tackle drug-related crime in the Lviv region.

Operations like this are likely part of a broader strategic campaign to reduce the circulation of illegal substances, which in turn aims to lower overall crime rates and improve public safety for citizens.
