A Ukrainian was detained in Warsaw with a silencer: posed a threat to airport security.
According to ТСН: A 23-year-old Ukrainian was detained at Warsaw's Okecie Airport, who had a device for jamming radio signals. This device operates on frequencies reserved for aviation communication and navigation.
The man was located in a café in the terminal area with a laptop and equipment spread out, which aroused suspicion among security services.
After being detained, the young man was unable to explain his intentions regarding his presence at the airport and the reasons for having the illegal device.
Legal Consequences
According to the prosecutor's information, the detainee is charged with attempting actions that threaten air traffic safety. The court decided on a preventive measure in the form of temporary arrest for one month.
Investigative Actions
Currently, investigators are checking the seized laptop, phone, and the jammer itself. They also do not rule out the possibility of involving the Internal Security Agency of Poland.
It is worth reminding that on December 31st, it became known that a group of people attacked a Ukrainian and insulted him because of his nationality. The Ambassador of Ukraine, Vasyl Bodnar, has already commented on the incident and emphasized the unacceptability of hate speech. The diplomat called for an objective investigation of the case.
This incident again highlights the need for attention to security in airports, especially in the context of growing tensions in the world. The Polish authorities continue the investigation to clarify all the details of the incident and prevent similar situations in the future.
