Zelensky proposes to simplify the transition of specialists from the private sector to public positions

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the staffing issue in government institutions has become more serious due to the war. He proposes to simplify the transition of specialists from the private sector to public positions. He spoke about this to students on November 17.

Unfortunately, there are losses, and you know that they are significant. One person is already a big loss. (...) Unfortunately, these specialists are from various fields. Not only from state institutions but also from the private sector.

Zelensky also noted that the situation with staffing should be viewed in the context of all three sectors - public, private, and civil.

In his opinion, the problem with staffing in government institutions can be solved by 'opening up' the sector as much as possible and increasing salaries.

To raise salaries, to raise respect for institutions, to restore faith that one can come and become a minister.

Earlier, the head of the State Special Communications and Information Protection Service of Ukraine, Yuriy Myronenko, was dismissed from his position. Representatives of NABU and SAP also reported suspicions against Yuriy Shchigol and other individuals for abusing state funds amounting to more than 62 million UAH.

According to the investigation, in 2020, a group of companies colluded with the leadership of the State Special Communications Service to develop a scheme for seizing budget funds intended for the procurement of equipment and software. This was done by involving two controlled companies and hiding purchases to avoid open tenders and guarantee their victory. With the help of these companies, the state enterprise under the jurisdiction of the State Special Communications Service concluded contracts for the supply of software and services, as well as transferred funds for subsequent years amounting to more than 285 million UAH.
