According to TSN.ua: A new mental health center called POVERNENNYA has opened in Zhytomyr, offering free psychological support to military personnel, veterans, and their families. This marks a significant advancement in Ukraine's efforts to bolster mental health care and develop the sector. Located at 1 Viktora Kosenka Street, the facility serves over 4,000 individuals annually who require such assistance.

The POVERNENNYA Initiative

Launched in 2025, the POVERNENNYA project has already assisted more than 10,000 veterans and their family members through centers nationwide. Beyond Zhytomyr, the POVERNENNYA network operates in:

  • Dnipro
  • Kyiv
  • Cherkasy
  • Chernihiv
  • Kropyvnytskyi
  • Ternopil
  • Rivne
  • Lutsk
  • Khmelnytskyi
  • Poltava
  • Ivano-Frankivsk

The project's founders aim to expand the network to 25 centers, enabling even more people to access essential support.

As part of the initiative, nearly 100 educational events have been held for over 1,500 professionals, demonstrating active efforts not only in delivering psychological care but also in enhancing specialist training.

“We see that this works, and the private sector can be a powerful partner in this.” - Viktor Pinchuk

Alona Tsvetkova added: 'The opening of the POVERNENNIA center today is especially timely,' highlighting the relevance of such initiatives in the current environment.

The establishment of the POVERNENNYA mental health center in Zhytomyr represents a crucial step in building a support system for veterans and service members, who often face mental health challenges after their service. Initiatives aimed at improving mental well-being are becoming increasingly vital amid the armed conflict and social challenges confronting the country. Expanding the network of centers across Ukraine could significantly enhance access to psychological help for those in need.
