UPDATED. At the moment, as a result of the rocket strike on Poltava, 49 people were killed, 219 injured. This was stated by Defense Ministry spokesman Dmytro Lazutkin on the air of the nationwide marathon "Unified News".

Recall, according to the Ministry of Defense, Russian troops today launched a rocket attack on an educational institution in Poltava using ballistics, one of the institute's buildings was partially destroyed, many people were trapped under the rubble, 25 people were rescued, 11 were deblocked from the rubble, rescue operations are ongoing.

Initially, it was known about 41 dead. More than 180 people were injured.

Eyewitnesses told "Glavkom" that the strike on Poltava was very powerful, plumes of black smoke rose into the sky. The Poltava blood transfusion station, operating on the basis of the regional hospital, announced an urgent blood collection. Additionally, an operational headquarters for eliminating the consequences of the strike in Poltava has started its work. Preliminary reports indicate that more than 10 residential buildings were damaged.
