Fedorov also noted that the President holds daily briefings to discuss the results of air defense performance analysis and energy restoration efforts. To further strengthen its defensive capabilities, Ukraine is expecting deliveries of Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets, along with missiles for its air defense systems, from France. This support comes as Ukraine continues to face a sustained campaign of missile and drone attacks targeting its critical infrastructure.
An Urgent Need for Greater Military Preparedness
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has stressed the critical need for enhanced military readiness, stating: 'Ukraine needs much larger reserves of equipment and air defense.' This statement underscores the urgent requirement to bolster the country's defenses against ongoing aerial assaults. The efforts of the Ministry of Defense and the government demonstrate a clear commitment to protecting Ukrainian airspace and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
Strengthening air defense remains a cornerstone of Ukraine's strategy to counter threats from Russia, especially within the context of the prolonged conflict. The introduction of new technologies and the supply of modern weaponry highlight the vital importance of international support for reinforcing the nation's defensive posture. The security situation in Ukraine remains tense, demanding swift decisions and coordinated efforts across all levels of government.
