Zelenskyy Reveals Details: Ukrainian Air Defense Experts Are Active in the Middle East.
Latest Developments: How Ukraine Is Assisting in the Middle East
According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian troops will not engage in combat operations in the Middle East, but they are sharing their expertise on countering Iranian drones, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced. According to him, Ukrainian air defense specialists are currently deployed in several Gulf nations, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. This marks a significant step in Ukraine’s growing security partnerships beyond Europe.
Reports indicate that roughly 210 to 220 Ukrainian air defense experts are stationed across Middle Eastern countries. President Zelenskyy stated:
“We are not discussing them taking part in another war. We have enough of our own war.” - Volodymyr Zelenskyy
This underscores that while Ukraine remains focused on its own domestic challenges, it is willing to lend its hard-won defensive knowledge to other nations.
Collaboration with Gulf States
Zelenskyy also emphasized that “all these avenues will be utilized,” pointing to continued security cooperation between Ukraine and Gulf countries. By providing technical know-how without direct military involvement, Ukrainian experts are playing a key role in strengthening regional defense capabilities.
This collaboration signals a deepening of strategic ties between Ukraine and Middle Eastern states, which could significantly shape the region's security landscape. As threats from Iranian drones grow more acute, Ukraine's hands-on experience in air defense is becoming a valuable asset for building new protective systems for its partners. In this way, Ukraine continues to demonstrate its commitment to international cooperation while keeping its own security and stability as the top priority.
