New Youth Rowing Facility Under Construction in Zhytomyr Region
According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian company UPG is funding the construction of a dedicated rowing base for children in the Zhytomyr region, which is scheduled to open in the spring of 2026. This facility is designed to be a hub for developing young talent in rowing sports. It will feature a sports hall, showers, and changing rooms to provide a comfortable training environment for young athletes.
The base will serve as the home for the 'Power of Polissya Rivers' kayak and canoe club. Construction is currently in its final stages. The Zhytomyr region has a strong rowing heritage, having already produced three Olympic medals for Ukraine, two of which were won in rowing disciplines.
UPG's Commitment to Sporting Development
UPG is a Ukrainian group of companies specializing in petroleum product trading and ranks among the country's top three operators by number of service stations. According to the company's press service, UPG views its investments in youth sports and health as a direct investment in the nation's future.
Developing sports infrastructure, such as this children's rowing base, is expected to boost the popularity of rowing across Ukraine. Given the region's proven success on the international stage, this new center could become a crucial training ground for the next generation of champions.
