Blood Group I (0): Why Its Carriers Live Longer According to Statistics.
According to ТСН: Among the elderly, the first blood group — I (0) — is the most commonly found. Researchers believe this may be linked to increased resistance to a number of serious diseases.
Statistics confirm that people with blood group I (0) have a lower risk of developing stroke, heart attack, and other cardiovascular diseases on average. Moreover, they are less frequently diagnosed with pancreatic and stomach cancer.
One possible explanation lies in the composition of their blood. In carriers of the first blood group, there are fewer factors that promote thrombosis. Since myocardial infarction and stroke often occur due to thrombosis, this characteristic may provide additional protection.
Studies of Centenarians
In a large-scale study published in the scientific journal PLOS Genetics, scientists analyzed genetic data from approximately 800 individuals over the age of 100 and 5400 individuals around the age of 90. The results showed that variations in four key genes — particularly in the gene associated with blood group — can significantly affect the aging rate of the body.
Scientists Have Identified the Biological Limit of Human Life
Other studies confirm that individuals who live to a hundred years or more have fewer genes that increase the risk of chronic diseases. This means that they typically suffer from a lower number of serious illnesses compared to those whose lifespan is shorter.
Why Some Live Longer than Others
Scientists concluded that the secret of longevity lies not only in genes. People live longer, in part, due to maintaining physical health, but there are also other protective aging mechanisms that science is just beginning to explore.
Thus, the results of these studies open new horizons in the study of longevity. The secrets of a healthy and long life may be much more complex than we thought. Research continues, and perhaps soon we will be able to better understand how genetics and lifestyle influence the length of our lives.
