Elections in Belarus. Russia announced that in case of protests it is ready to send 'aid'.
The Russian ambassador to Belarus, Boris Gryzlov, stated that Russia will provide 'aid' to Belarus in case of protests following the presidential elections in 2025. This is reported by The Moscow Times.
'If necessary - Russia, within its obligations, will certainly provide aid and support, as requested by our closest ally and strategic partner,' Gryzlov said.
The ambassador added that both Alexander Lukashenko and law enforcement leaders warned of 'provocations' ahead of the elections.
'Both the head of the Belarusian state and law enforcement leaders warned of possible actions of this kind ahead of the elections. This fact itself indicates that Belarusian law enforcement agencies are well aware of the preparation of provocations,' Gryzlov summarized.
Earlier, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, stated that in the next presidential elections in 2025, citizens will 'carefully and neatly' choose their country's leader.
As is known, Belarus has sent its military personnel to Russia for military exercises.
Notably, at least eight Shahed strike drones, which the Russian army used to attack Ukraine on the night of October 18, flew into Belarusian territory, reported the monitoring project 'Belarusian Hajun'. It was previously revealed that Belarus has decided to conceal the incidents of Russian strike drones entering its territory. This was stated by the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.
