I felt something was going to happen — Kyiv woman saved her family during the attack.
On the night of Thursday, July 31, Russian occupiers attacked Kyiv. At that time, Natalia, a resident of one of the destroyed buildings, managed to save herself, her husband, and their son.
The Kyiv woman shared this in a comment to Novyny.LIVE.
How the Kyiv woman saved her entire family
According to her, the family spent the first air raid alert in a shelter — they went down into the metro. Then they returned home, where the children went to sleep. But the woman remained on guard — she says she felt that danger was still ahead.
'The monitors didn’t show that there would be missiles, but I couldn't fall asleep. And when the next alert sounded, I just woke everyone up, and we went down to the first floor. We had just gone down — and the glass started to fall,' she recounts.
Her apartment is on the ninth floor, the highest in the building. That is where the shockwave hit. The explosion was so strong that the balcony was damaged, and the entire kitchen was destroyed.
'The child was very scared. And we were too,' she adds.
Currently, the family is temporarily staying with friends. The woman is waiting for the police to arrive to document the damages, after which, together with her husband, she plans to clean up the glass and board up the damaged windows.
Additionally, today during the shelling in the Sviatoshyn district of the capital, a girl named Veronika fell from the ninth floor — and survived.
We remind you that President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to the Russian massive shelling of Ukraine on the night of July 31. Kyiv was the main target of the occupiers' attack. The enemy struck with drones and missiles.
This news describes how Natalia managed to save her family from the shelling of Russian occupiers in Kyiv. We thank her for her courage and vigilance, which allowed them to avoid tragedy.
