According to TSN.ua: Volodymyr Boreiko, a well-known Ukrainian ecologist and environmental advocate, lost his life in a traffic accident near Kyiv on March 13. His wife, Olha Musafirova, confirmed the news, stating:

“My husband, Volodymyr Boreiko, a renowned Ukrainian ecologist, died in a car crash near Kyiv. Our family will announce the time and place of the funeral at a later date.”

Contributions to Environmental Science

Born on October 5, 1958, Boreiko led the public organization 'Kyiv Ecological and Cultural Center' and served as editor-in-chief of the 'Humanitarian and Ecological Journal.' He made major contributions to environmental science in Ukraine, authoring over 200 books and more than 700 scientific publications. His work directly helped shape 18 environmental protection laws in the country.

In 2010, Boreiko was awarded the title 'Honored Environmental Protector of Ukraine.' He was also a member of the Commission on Protected Areas of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, reflecting his active role in global environmental initiatives and conservation efforts.
