Problems at Vilnius Airport Due to Unusual Object
Vilnius Airport temporarily suspended its operations due to an 'unidentified flying object' from Belarus. The Lithuanian Army's Air Force detected this object moving from Belarus towards Lithuania. Visual contact with it was not established.According to inkorr.com: Currently, services are working to gather additional information, and passengers are advised to contact airlines directly for the latest information about scheduled flights.
Previous Incidents at the Airport
Last week, the airport also faced issues: a drone launched by the company Teltonika disrupted operations. This drone delayed the landing of a transport aircraft carrying the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda. Such incidents underscore the importance of maintaining high safety standards at airports.“These incidents highlight critical aspects of safety and airspace management,” said a representative of the air force.
Currently, both cases indicate how crucial it is to monitor the country's airspace to ensure the safety of air travel. Authorities hope that the measures taken will help avoid similar incidents in the future.
