Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi demonstrated his position during his visit to Ukraine, which indicates India's neutrality. This was stated by Olena Bordilovska, Doctor of Political Science and Head of the Department of New Challenges at the National Institute for Strategic Studies.

She recalled that during Modi's visit to Moscow, Russia launched a missile strike on the children's hospital "Okhmatdyt" in Kyiv.

«Modi told Putin that it is impossible to see the suffering of people, especially children», - Bordilovska said.

Bordilovska disagrees with those who demand a more neutral position from India in the war between Russia and Ukraine.

«India's neutral position is its visits to both Moscow and Kyiv. This is the credo of Indian diplomacy, which the Indian society has confirmed. We hoped that this visit would confirm India's neutral position and its willingness to listen to all sides. The statements made by Modi during the visit confirm that India supports peace in Ukraine», - she noted.

Bordilovska emphasized that everything will not change suddenly and one should not expect a miracle from Modi's visit to Kyiv.

«Understanding that India will not stop buying Russian oil or cooperating with Russia within the BRICS and SCO frameworks, it needs to be diversified. Modi's visits to Ukraine and Poland and attention to Central Europe are the beginning of the diversification of cooperation with Russia and possibly its minimization», - the political scientist noted.
