Situation at the scene
Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleg Synegubov commented on these events. According to Terekhov, at least four explosions have been recorded. At 10:35, Synegubov added that the consequences of the hits are currently being assessed.
«At this moment, no information about casualties has been reported».
Aerial threat
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported an active aerial threat in the Kharkiv region. Drones of the enemy were recorded in the area in the morning. In addition, there were reports of fast-moving targets coming from the north towards Kharkiv and the region, including the Old Saltiv area. Movement of UAVs over the outskirts of the city and towards the settlements of Kharkiv region has also been recorded.
Previous incidents
It is worth noting that on December 23, a Russian drone struck a residential high-rise building in Chernihiv. The strike hit the ninth floor, causing a fire and significant destruction.
The events in Kharkiv once again confirm the existing threat to the civilian population in regions subjected to shelling. Incidents such as the attack on Chernihiv are currently part of a large-scale aggression that has been ongoing for a long time. Authorities continue to urge the population to be vigilant and adhere to safety measures.
