Zelensky may meet Trump in Florida on December 28: details of the negotiations.
According to ТСН: In the coming days, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may head to Florida for talks with U.S. officials. This is reported by the news based on information from various sources.
According to the data, the meeting is planned at Mar-a-Lago, the estate owned by U.S. President Donald Trump. Previously, Ukrainian representatives have already held negotiations there with American partners to discuss options for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Negotiations and their complexities
If everything goes according to plan, the visit of the Ukrainian president could take place on December 28. An anonymous official noted:
“The level of specificity in the negotiations is higher than we have seen before. But the most difficult parts—security guarantees, control, and Russia's legal obligations—remain very unresolved.”
The official also emphasized that while “the level of specificity is higher than we have seen before,” many questions remain open, including “security guarantees, law enforcement, and Russia's legal obligations.”
Talks with American representatives
On December 25, Volodymyr Zelensky reported contacts with U.S. President's Special Representative Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. During the conversation, steps towards ending the war and ensuring lasting peace were discussed.
The conversation also involved NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Andriy Hnatov, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, his deputy Serhiy Kyslytsia, as well as deputy heads of the Office of the President Ihor Brusylov and Oleksandr Bevz.
Additionally, Volodymyr Zelensky disclosed the contents of the 20-point peace agreement that Ukraine, the U.S., and Russia are working on for the first time. There are also separate appendices regarding various issues, including mentions of possible agreements that may arise based on framework arrangements.
Zelensky's visit to the U.S. could significantly influence the further course of negotiations regarding conflict resolution and the search for peaceful solutions. The meeting is expected to be an important milestone in diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring stability in the region and strengthening international support for Ukraine.
