Zelensky held talks with Trump's team: what was agreed regarding peace.
According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced successful talks with the special representative of the US President Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The meeting was dedicated to developing measures for ending the war and establishing lasting peace.
"We are working 24 hours a day to bring an end to this brutal Russian war against Ukraine and to make all documents and steps realistic, effective, and reliable. We discussed some important details of our work. There are good ideas that can bring a joint result and lasting peace. Real security, real recovery, real peace — this is what we all need in Ukraine, in the United States, in Europe, and among all partners who are helping us," Zelensky noted.
Negotiating Team
Zelensky emphasized that a large diplomatic and military team participated in the negotiations. Among the participants were: Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiha, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Serhii Kyslytsia, as well as deputies of the Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Brusylo and Oleksandr Bevz.
"We agreed that Rustem will speak with Steve and Jared today. We believe it is right not to lose any day or any opportunity that can bring us closer to the result. Let today's conversation be another step towards peace," the president noted.
Negotiating Framework
It should be noted that Ukraine, together with its Western partners, has established clear frameworks for negotiations to end the war. The corresponding plan has already been agreed upon with the United States and European countries; however, official Moscow has not yet expressed its position.
Earlier, Ukrainian political scientist Vadym Denysenko mentioned that the peace plan consisting of 20 points, announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky, does not imply signing and primarily has political goals.
These negotiations reflect Ukraine's efforts to strengthen international support in the face of current challenges. Zelensky and his team are actively working to create conditions for a peaceful resolution of the conflict, hoping for constructive dialogue with all parties. The success of these negotiations depends not only on stability in Ukraine but also on general security in the region.
