Meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced an important meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, where crucial issues for strengthening the country's defense capability were discussed. The head of state shared this news on his Telegram channel on September 20.

Preparation for the Protection of Energy Infrastructure

The meeting addressed three key topics, the first of which was preparation for the protection of energy infrastructure during the winter period. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko reported on the state of the engineering protection of facilities, the schedule for completing fortifications, and the deployment of electronic warfare (EW) and air defense (AD) systems. Special attention was given to the placement of Patriot systems, which Ukraine expects to receive shortly.

Production of Missiles, Drones and EW Equipment

The second important issue discussed at the meeting was the domestic production of missiles, drones, and EW equipment. Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha presented reports on this topic. A decision was made to ensure long-term government contracts and attract foreign investments to maximize the potential of the Ukrainian industry.

Situation at the Front

The third agenda item was the situation at the front. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on the state of affairs in all major directions. In addition, reports from the heads of intelligence services, Kyrylo Budanov and Oleh Ivashchenko, were heard.
