Ukrainian President Responds to Iranian Threats

According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has addressed recent threats from Iran, which labeled Ukraine a “legitimate target” for strikes. In an interview with Israeli television channel i24NEWS, Zelenskyy pointed out that Ukraine has been living under such threats for four years—and in reality, he noted, this has been the case for as long as 12 years. These remarks come amid heightened tensions between Kyiv and Tehran, following Iran’s increasingly hostile rhetoric.

Zelenskyy made clear that Ukraine is not frightened by these warnings:

“We are not afraid of such messages,” he stated.

He also highlighted Russia’s active role in assisting Iran, specifically by transferring drone technology. Evidence of this cooperation emerged after a downed Shahed drone in the Middle East was found to contain Russian-made components.

Iran’s Stance

Adding to the strain, Iran’s parliamentary national security committee chairman, Ebrahim Azizi, has also threatened Ukraine with strikes, underscoring the deteriorating relations between the two countries. The situation remains volatile, and Ukrainian authorities continue to monitor developments closely.

Zelenskyy’s statements reflect an ongoing escalation in tensions between Ukraine and Iran, set against the backdrop of deepening Iran-Russia collaboration. Iran’s threats may be part of a larger geopolitical strategy in which Ukraine remains a key actor. As the conflict with Russia intensifies, international support and close monitoring of Iranian threats are critically important for Ukraine’s security.
