Fuel Deliveries for Ukraine’s Military

According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that the military’s fuel needs are fully met, with no complaints from troops. The army currently receives around 700,000 tons of fuel per month, totaling an estimated 7.2 to 7.4 million tons annually. This steady supply is critical for maintaining combat readiness amid the ongoing conflict.

Defense Agreements with International Partners

Zelensky has also signed two major 10-year defense pacts with Qatar and Saudi Arabia, with a similar agreement with the United Arab Emirates in the pipeline. These deals aim to secure long-term resource stability. Speaking on the matter, the president stated:

'We know how to secure this. Beyond contracts, we are discussing additional arrangements to guarantee unconditional priority.' - Volodymyr Zelensky

Additionally, Zelensky announced a separate deal for diesel fuel supply covering at least one year. He noted, 'Yesterday, I secured a diesel agreement for a minimum of one year. From there, it’s up to our company (Naftogaz) and local firms.' These steps highlight the government’s push to ensure the military has essential resources during a challenging period.

Fuel supply remains a linchpin of Ukraine’s defense capabilities, especially under the strain of war. The successful negotiations with international partners in defense and energy reflect Ukraine’s drive to establish reliable resource channels, which could bolster its military strength. They also signal a more active foreign policy focused on building strategic alliances in the region.
