Kyiv Faces Widespread Blackout and Water Supply Failures

According to TSN.ua: A major power outage has struck Kyiv’s left bank, triggering water supply interruptions in the Obolon district and forcing a temporary halt to several public transit services. The metro system on the left bank came to a standstill, with the segment between the Dnipro and Lisova stations completely inoperative.

Water supply disruptions have spread beyond the left bank, affecting the Pechersk, Holosiiv, Solomianka, and Sviatoshyn districts as well.

“Due to power cuts at Kyivvodokanal facilities, water supply is currently unavailable,” the utility company reported.

Surface electric transport has also been impacted. The following trolleybus routes are suspended:

Additionally, these tram routes are not running:

  • 35
“Voltage issues on the left bank have disrupted public transport operations,” the Kyiv City State Administration noted.

Residents in these areas continue to face daily hardships due to the lack of electricity and running water. City authorities are actively working to resolve the crisis.

This emergency stems from a failure in the power grid, causing severe knock-on effects for daily life. Officials are intensifying efforts to restore electricity and water services—critical for maintaining livable conditions.
