Investigation: Former head of the Crimean SBU collaborated with the FSB
Journalists from The Times conducted an investigation revealing the collaboration of former head of the Crimean SBU, Oleg Kulinich, with the FSB. According to the investigation, the SBU gained access to documents stolen from the offices of Russian special services in Moscow and from the spy's apartment in Kyiv. Among them are photographs and videos showing Kulinich vacationing abroad with the curator of the Russian espionage network in Ukraine, Volodymyr Sivkovych, as well as their correspondence.
According to the documents, Kulinich had access to critical secret information about the country's defense capabilities, making him a valuable agent for the FSB. From 2020 to 2021, he practically destroyed counterintelligence activities in Crimea.
In April 2021, he organized large-scale anti-terrorism exercises in the Kherson region to identify weaknesses in Ukraine's defense. In the first hours of the invasion, he blocked any attempts to inform the SBU leadership about the actual situation in the region, even confiscating weapons from SBU employees.
In 2022, Kulinich was detained by the SBU on suspicion of state treason during a special operation led by the SBU Head, Vasyl Maliuk.
It should be noted that on July 16, 2022, the SBU detained Oleg Kulinich on suspicion of state treason. According to the investigation, Kulinich collaborated with the FSB and received the operational pseudonym Kotyhoroshko. His activities were controlled by a so-called 'political office' in Moscow, established at the request of the Russian special service by Sivkovych and the former head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, Klyuev.
According to the investigation's version, Kulinich spied for the RF even before the war began, placing his people in Ukraine's law enforcement agencies and inciting citizens to commit state treason. However, the case against Kulinich was closed by the Shevchenkivskyi District Court in Kyiv.
Former head of Kharkiv SBU suspected of state treason
Also among the accused is the former head of the Kharkiv SBU, Dudyn. He has been charged with state treason, unauthorized abandonment of a military unit, and disobedience. According to the investigation, Dudyn harmed Ukraine's defense capabilities and national security by creating conditions for the surrender of weapons and supplies to the enemy.
It is worth noting that Dudyn insisted that Kharkiv region was firmly protected against Russian aggression. However, Russian troops occupied the north and east of the Kharkiv region, advancing towards Kharkiv.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, dismissed Dudyn after his visit to Kharkiv region. The head of state stated that the official did not fulfill his obligations and was only thinking about his own interests during the war.
