Journalist Sokolova reported new details of the scandal with ex-minister Milovanov.
The journalist accused Tymofiy Milovanov of failing to fulfill promises regarding the financing of a charitable project
Journalist Yaryna Sokolova spoke about the conflict with Tymofiy Milovanov, the former minister of economy and president of the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE). She accuses him of spreading false information and failing to fulfill promises regarding the funding of a charitable project. Sokolova shared this in her post on Facebook.
According to Yaryna Sokolova, in September her foundation was looking for financial support to implement a psychological aid project for military and civilian personnel. Tymofiy Milovanov, she says, promised to help during an online meeting.
“In September, Tymofiy Milovanov promised to help with the project's funding and informed me via SMS about a positive decision from the budget committee and changes in formalities. Then he disappeared. Two months passed. The promised funds are missing,” Sokolova reports.
At the meeting of the foundation's board of directors on November 18, it was decided to decline support for the project due to its non-compliance with the foundation's areas of activity. The event caused outrage from the journalist, who claimed that Milovanov promised more than he could fulfill.
“This person took on responsibilities and deceived us. They kept a team of people in suspense for two months and left us hanging,” Sokolova added.
After this, the conversation between them escalated into a conflict, and Sokolova sent Milovanov an offensive message. He then published screenshots of this correspondence online.
The journalist urged caution regarding Tymofiy Milovanov. It is noted that he previously published his version of the conflict with Yaryna Sokolova and screenshots of their correspondence.
