December 10: Feast of Saints Mina, Ermogena, and Evgraf — signs and what not to do

According to ТСН: Tomorrow, in the Orthodox calendar, we commemorate the memory of the holy martyrs Mina, Ermogena, and Evgraf. Mina was a Christian martyr who lived in the 3rd-4th centuries, and his activities are associated with Egypt. He is known as a defender of faith and miracle worker, to whom people turned for healing and help. According to legends, Mina always stood out for his great piety and courage in the face of persecution against Christians. In the Egyptian catacombs, where the martyrs were buried, evidence of his martyrdom remains, which occurred due to his refusal to renounce Christ under torture.

Ermogena was a Christian priest or deacon (depending on the version), who lived during the early persecution. His martyrdom is connected with the sacrificial preaching of faith among pagans and his steadfastness against the violence of authorities. Ermogena was renowned for his wisdom, served as a mentor for young Christians, and prayed diligently. According to legends, he was executed along with his disciples, including Evgraf.

Evgraf, a companion of saints Mina and Ermogena, is often described as a young disciple or deacon who supported the elders in their ministry and also suffered a martyr's death for his faith. He was distinguished by his dedication and purity of heart, becoming a bold witness to Christianity.
