In Sweden, a 12-year-old child assassin was detained: the first such case in the country's history.
According to ТСН: In the Swedish city of Malmö, police detained a 12-year-old boy suspected of organizing a fatal shooting. According to investigators, the teenager was supposed to carry out a murder contract but accidentally shot a 21-year-old man.
The suspect's name is not disclosed due to his age. However, Swedish media have dubbed him the 'child assassin.' Preliminary reports indicate that the boy was paid 250,000 Swedish kronor for the murder of a specific person. Authorities believe that this victim was not the intended target.
Details of the Detention
The arrest was made based on eyewitness testimonies. The teenager had run away from his grandmother's house, where he had lived since the age of seven. Investigators believe that the boy might have become part of a criminal group specializing in violent crimes.
Police also speculate that another passenger in the car, which the deceased was driving, could have been another target. All individuals in the car had criminal records. The deceased had previously served time for threatening officials and other crimes.
Tendency towards Lower Age of Criminality
In Sweden, minors have repeatedly been involved in cases related to explosions and the use of hand grenades. However, this case marks the first time in the country's history that a murder suspicion has been directed at a child of such a young age.
Malmö police officer Rassem Chebil noted that law enforcement is observing a dangerous trend toward lowering the age of individuals involved in serious crimes. According to him, minors are often recruited through social networks, taking advantage of the fact that in Sweden, children under 15 cannot be sentenced to prison.
At the same time, the prosecution has decided to initiate criminal proceedings against the minor due to the severity of the crime, regardless of his age.
This incident further underscores the seriousness of the issue regarding youth involvement in criminal activity. The authorities in Sweden must find effective solutions to counteract such phenomena to prevent the recruitment of children into criminal groups and violence.
