Ukraine Implements Hourly Power Outage Schedules by Region Starting February 5.
Hourly Power Outage Schedules for Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: Starting February 5, Ukraine will implement scheduled hourly power outages across its regions. This measure is a direct response to the severe damage inflicted on the country's energy infrastructure by massive Russian missile and drone attacks. The controlled blackouts are necessary to preserve the national power grid and manage the drastically reduced supply of electricity.
In Kyiv, 60 different outage schedule groups will be established to organize the distribution of available electricity more systematically. Residents of Poltava Oblast will have access to power for only 4 to 6 hours per day, severely limiting daily activities. In Sumy Oblast, electricity will be cut off 4 to 5 times daily, totaling approximately 16 hours without power. Chernivtsi Oblast will see a daily electricity allowance of just 6 hours, while Khmelnytskyi Oblast will experience blackouts lasting 15 to 17 hours each day. These schedules reflect the ongoing strain on Ukraine's energy system, which has been a repeated target since the full-scale invasion began nearly two years ago.
Power Supply Situation
The overall power supply situation in Ukraine remains critically difficult. Authorities are urging citizens to understand the necessity of these new conditions and to strictly adhere to the published schedules. Public cooperation is essential to prevent a complete system collapse and to maintain some stability within the national energy grid.
The introduction of these structured outage schedules is a direct response to the emergency in Ukraine's energy sector caused by the war. These steps aim to ensure the most efficient use of the country's limited electricity resources, which is vital for both civilian and defense needs during the conflict. Citizens are strongly advised to plan their daily routines and essential tasks around the new timetables to mitigate the disruptions caused by the blackouts.
