Massive Power Outage in Dnipro: Residents Charge Phones in Stores

According to ТСН: In Dnipro, due to significant power outages caused by Russian strikes, local residents are forced to charge their gadgets in supermarkets. In people's apartments, water flows from taps in a murky color.

This is reported by Telegram channels.

Due to the large-scale power outage, citizens are taking the opportunity to charge their phones and other devices in stores, although the demand is not too high, as supermarket shelves are still stocked with products.

However, bottled water has disappeared from the shelves — it was bought up after brown-colored water started flowing from the taps.

Power Outage in Dnipro and the Region: What is Known

Recall that in the evening of January 7, the Dnipropetrovsk region was left without electricity due to a Russian attack. In the morning of January 8, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration — Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba reported that repair work is ongoing in the region to restore heat and water supply for over a million subscribers. It has been partially possible to restore centralized systems in several settlements. On the Left Bank of Dnipro, water is available but is being supplied with reduced pressure.

Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov declared a national emergency in the city due to the critical consequences of the shelling. Approximately 800,000 families in the region remain without electricity. Currently, power engineers are focusing on supplying hospitals and sewage systems, gradually stabilizing water supply on the right bank. Complex work continues to restore de-energized boilers. Due to the lack of electricity supply, electric transport has been switched to buses, schools have extended their break until January 11, and kindergartens are operating in a reduced mode.

This situation is a result of relentless Russian attacks that continue to impact the livelihood of cities in Ukraine. Local authorities and energy companies are making efforts to restore normal living conditions, but the consequences may be felt for a long time in the daily lives of citizens. Restoring infrastructure and providing the population with everything necessary is an important task in the current crisis conditions.
