Alla Kudlai on separation from her grandchildren in England: why she doesn't go to them for Christmas.
According to ТСН: The People's Artist of Ukraine Alla Kudlai talked about the life of her grandchildren in Great Britain and the reasons why she cannot visit them. The artist noted that two of her grandchildren, along with her daughter-in-law Martha Spizhenko, live in England, and this separation brings her considerable pain. According to Kudlai, she especially feels sorry for the children who have to grow up far from their native land. In an interview, she shared that her grandson Andriykо has already started school and has a wonderful voice, while his sister Ulyana speaks English fluently. The whole family was last in Ukraine in 2023.
"I feel so sorry that I can't go with her (daughter-in-law Martha Spizhenko - ed.) to sing somewhere at a concert. And I feel sorry for the children. Ulyana, when they left here, kept saying: 'I'm not going anywhere from home.' My grandson Andriykо is now five years old, and Ulyana is already 10. Andriykо sings beautifully and already goes to school. Ulyana speaks English fluently. They all came here together in 2023. It was two weeks that flew by like one day. And again, saying goodbye, and again tears. It's hard for my family abroad. It's hard for everyone," the artist shared.
Expressing a desire to be close to her loved ones, Alla Kudlai still does not dare to travel far. She admitted that she is afraid of the difficulties of traveling and the physical exertion that is hard to bear. Therefore, the artist will celebrate Christmas in Ukraine, but hopes to stay in touch with her grandchildren through online communication.
"I'm afraid I won't be able to handle the journey. I'm used to being led by the hand, and here there are a thousand transfers, trains are delayed, and you miss the flight. It’s not a journey; it's a nightmare. Everything is not made for people. And I’m afraid that I won’t withstand it. So I'll congratulate my grandchildren on Christmas online, what can you do," the star added.
Let’s remind that recently actor Taras Tsymbalyuk came to celebrate Christmas with his parents and showed how he prepared for a special family dinner.
The situation with Ukrainian children who left for abroad is becoming increasingly relevant in light of the prolonged war. Many families are forced to break ties with their culture and traditions, which brings both emotional and social difficulties. By staying in Ukraine, Alla Kudlai shows how important it is to maintain family connections, even if they are formed at a distance, including through modern technologies. The importance of online communication today cannot be overestimated, as it allows to stay in touch with loved ones despite the distances.
