Belgian and Ukrainian defense companies signed a memorandum: what does this mean.
The Belgian company Thales and the Ukrainian defense enterprise have signed an agreement for joint production of missiles to protect against Russian drones.
Thales Belgium signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ukrainian defense enterprise. This agreement involves joint production of missiles to counter hostile UAVs. It is also expected that this cooperation will expand in the future - to include the transfer of technologies and components for these missiles
The Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Herman Smetanin stated that this cooperation will strengthen the Ukrainian defense industry and protect critical infrastructure from enemy drones.
Let us recall that the US Department of Defense signed a contract for the production of medium-range AMRAAM missiles with the American company Raytheon for almost $1.2 billion, including supplies for Ukraine.
In Ukraine, a missile program has also been officially approved, which received funding from the budget. This will allow the country to obtain domestically produced missiles with a range of 1000 kilometers.
