Pensioners aged 70+ will receive new allowances in 2026: who and how much.
According to ТСН: In Ukraine, pensioners can receive not only their pension but also monthly supplements. The amount of these supplements depends on age, income, and social status.
Aging Supplement to Pension
Citizens who turn 70 in 2026 will automatically receive aging supplements to their pensions. These payments are calculated based on age:
70–74 years — 300 UAH;
75–79 years — 456 UAH;
80 years and older — 570 UAH per month.
It is worth noting that the total amount of pension payments cannot exceed 10,340.35 UAH per month.
“There is also one equally important point in calculating the allowance: a person who reaches the next age level, for example, 75 years, will receive a pension supplement of 156 UAH. Since such a pensioner already has a supplement of 300 UAH granted at 70 years, an additional amount is calculated to the next level,” the Pension Fund reported.
Care Allowance for Pensioners 80+
Pensioners aged over 80 can receive a separate allowance that amounts to 40% of the subsistence minimum for non-working individuals. From January 1, 2026, this amount will be 1,038 UAH.
To qualify for this assistance, pensioners must:
live independently;
receive a pension by age;
need constant care;
have a medical conclusion from the medical advisory commission;
not have able-bodied relatives who are obligated to support them.
Supplements for Combatants
Combatants and others affected by the war have the right to increased pension payments. The Pension Fund reports that the amount of the allowance is 25% of the subsistence minimum for non-working individuals — from January 2026, this amount will rise to 648 UAH. This allowance may be received by:
combatants;
family members of deceased military personnel;
persons with disabilities as a result of the war;
victims of the Revolution of Dignity.
To register for the payment, it is necessary to contact the Pension Fund, submit an application, and provide documents confirming the status.
It should also be noted that from January 1, the rules for retirement in Ukraine are changing. The new requirements concern the insurance period for eligibility for age pension. To retire at 60, one must have at least 33 years of official insurance experience.
