DTEK Urges Troieshchyna Residents to Keep Roads Clear Amid Power Crisis.
DTEK's Appeal to Troieshchyna Residents
According to TSN.ua: DTEK has called on residents of the Troieshchyna district in Kyiv to show patience due to the critical state of the energy system. The company specifically requests that people refrain from blocking roads, as this obstructs the rapid restoration of electricity to the area. Troieshchyna is currently facing severe conditions, including a lack of centralized heating supply.
According to DTEK, the strained situation is underscored by 26 separate failures at substations in Troieshchyna over the past week alone. Some repair efforts may take up to two days, requiring significant work to re-establish a stable power supply. This infrastructure crisis is part of the wider strain on Ukraine's energy grid following targeted attacks.
Situation in the Desnianskyi District
On January 28, residents of Kyiv's Desnianskyi district blocked traffic, which hampered the work of emergency repair crews. DTEK is urging public cooperation and understanding, emphasizing that the speed of restoring both electricity and heat depends on it.
The situation in Troieshchyna reflects the broader strain on the energy system, which requires urgent resolution. While road blockades are an expression of resident frustration, they can significantly delay the restoration of power—a critical concern during the winter months. Community cooperation with utility workers is vital to stabilizing the situation and ensuring livable conditions for the district's inhabitants.
