Current Status of the Feldman Ecopark

Ivan Dostov, the park’s director, confirmed that it has not changed its schedule and remains open to visitors, allowing them to interact with the animals. Evacuation Plans and Potential Scenarios

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, has previously raised the possibility of evacuating the park. According to Dostov, executing such a move is highly complex due to the large number of animals that would need to be relocated. Currently, no institutions in Ukraine are equipped to accept certain species, particularly primates, which further complicates the situation. Additionally, transporting hoofed animals under sedation poses serious safety risks.

The ecopark has already developed a contingency plan for a deteriorating security environment. As Ivan Dostov stated,

“We have experience with evacuations since the beginning of the war. A plan exists, but it is an absolute last resort.”
