Kyiv Region Power Grid Stabilized, Scheduled Blackouts to Resume.
Power Situation in the Kyiv Region
According to TSN.ua: DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, has announced that the power grid in the Kyiv region has been stabilized following recent attacks. This improvement allows for a return to scheduled, rolling blackouts to manage the electricity supply. The company confirmed that the situation in the region has improved.
Mykola Kalashnik, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, emphasized that despite this stabilization, a severe electricity deficit persists due to the strikes on energy facilities. To cope with this critical shortage, essential infrastructure has been switched to alternative power sources.
Guidance for Local Communities
Residents are advised to limit the use of street lighting and elevator illumination. Interruptions to mobile internet service are also possible. DTEK stated that any further changes to the situation will be communicated via their Telegram channel.
The overall energy supply situation in the Kyiv region remains tense, as ongoing attacks continue to impact critical infrastructure. The return to scheduled blackouts indicates a degree of operational control has been restored, but the acute power deficit necessitates continued restrictions and conservation measures. Adherence to official guidance is crucial to reduce strain on the fragile grid during this period of instability. These disruptions are part of the wider impact on Ukraine's energy system from sustained Russian military strikes.
