Fruits may protect the lungs from polluted air
According to inkorr.com: Researchers from the University of Leicester have found that regular consumption of fruits can help protect the lungs from the negative effects of polluted air. Their findings, presented at the European Respiratory Society Congress in Amsterdam, sparked significant interest.
'The authors of the study stated that the high content of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds in fruits may help reduce the harm caused by exposure to fine particles in polluted air,' the report noted.
Increase in deaths from cardiovascular diseases
Over the past thirty years, there has been an increase in deaths from cardiovascular diseases. According to data from the American College of Cardiology, the number of deaths from CVD has risen by 46% — from 13.1 million in 1990 to 19.2 million in recent years.
It is worth noting that, according to the report, caffeine may improve endurance during challenging tasks, especially in stressful situations.
Thus, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, particularly through fruit consumption, can significantly strengthen the lungs in polluted air conditions. At the same time, the increase in mortality from cardiovascular diseases indicates the need for improved preventive measures and treatments to reduce this alarming statistic. Heart and lung health requires a comprehensive approach, considering nutrition, physical activity, and overall lifestyle.Read also
