The Head of Naftogaz answered whether Ukraine would have enough gas for the winter.

Ukraine has enough gas for the winter season, stated the head of the "Naftogaz" group, Oleksiy Chernyshov. According to him, Ukrainian underground storage facilities have sufficient reserves for the heating season, meeting the needs of the population and producers of heat and electricity.

In his comment to Facts ICTV, Chernyshov noted that despite the war, gas production in Ukraine is increasing. Over the first 8 months of 2023, more than 10 billion cubic meters of gas were produced, which is 7% more than in the same period last year. The head of "Naftogaz" stated that this volume of gas is sufficient to meet the needs of Ukrainian citizens.

Chernyshov also reported that the price for gas for the population will remain unchanged at least until the end of next April - 7 hryvnias 96 kopecks per cubic meter. However, he urged citizens to use gas cautiously, insulate their homes, and use energy-efficient equipment. This will help to reduce gas consumption and save on utility bills in the future.

"We cannot treat gas carelessly. It is a very important resource during the war," emphasized Chernyshov.
