Power Outage Schedules Across Ukraine

According to TSN.ua: Starting March 5, 2023, all regions of Ukraine will implement scheduled hourly power outages. This measure is a direct consequence of the widespread damage inflicted on the country's energy infrastructure by Russian mass missile and drone attacks. Andrii Zhupanin stated that these planned blackouts are expected to last for at least one month. These controlled outages are a critical tool for managing the severely damaged national grid.

Specific Schedule for Zaporizhzhia Oblast

A specific power outage schedule has been established for Zaporizhzhia Oblast on March 5. The designated time periods are as follows:

  • 12:00 - 17:00
  • 13:30 - 17:00
  • 07:30 - 11:30
  • 00:00 - 00:30
  • 16:30 - 20:30
  • 21:00 - 24:00
  • 07:30 - 12:30
  • 16:30 - 21:30

These measures are designed to reduce strain on the power system and ensure greater stability in electricity supply where possible.

Meanwhile, no power cuts are planned for February 28 in several oblasts, including Zhytomyr, Chernivtsi, Khmelnytskyi, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Volyn, Lviv, and Rivne. This may indicate a relatively more stable power supply situation in these western and central regions at present.

Outage schedules will also be introduced in other oblasts, including Kyiv, Kyivska, Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy. Information on the schedules will be made available to residents in all affected regions to help them plan their daily activities around the limited electricity supply.

The implementation of scheduled blackouts is a crucial step for managing energy resources during wartime and alleviating pressure on the national grid.

This approach helps preserve the stability of Ukraine's electricity supply, particularly in regions that have suffered the most severe infrastructure damage. For citizens, staying informed of the local schedules is essential to adapt their daily routines to these challenging conditions.
