Cuba Fires Back at U.S. Threats

According to TSN.ua: In a forceful response to U.S. warnings about potential intervention, Cuba has declared its determination to stand up to any foreign aggressor. President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez accused Washington of seeking to overthrow the nation’s constitutional order and isolate its economy. He highlighted that the economic war waged against Cuba has now lasted more than six decades, with the U.S. using what he called an outrageous pretext: 'the severe constraints of a weakened economy that they themselves have attacked and tried to isolate for over sixty years.'

Current Conditions in Cuba

These remarks came in reaction to past comments by Donald Trump, who once said:

'I can free it or take it… I think I can do whatever I want with it.' — Donald Trump

The statement sparked deep concern in Cuba, where officials view it as a direct threat to national sovereignty. At the same time, the country is facing severe challenges, including a blackout triggered by the shutdown of the Antonio Guiteras thermal power plant, leaving much of the island without electricity.

Despite these difficulties, Cuba continues to assert its independence and readiness to resist external interference, emphasizing its commitment to defending its constitutional framework.

The relationship between Cuba and the United States remains tense, shaped by a long history of economic sanctions and political friction. The Cuban president’s strong words may signal an effort to reinforce domestic unity and rally public support for government policies amid mounting external pressure. The situation could become even more volatile as economic struggles—compounded by both foreign factors and internal issues like power outages—threaten the country’s stability and its ability to respond to outside threats.
