Lviv Authorities Advise Retailers and Pharmacies

According to TSN.ua: In response to the threat of a potential Russian attack, the city of Lviv has advised supermarkets and pharmacies to build up a two-week reserve of essential goods. This precautionary measure was approved on January 30. Mayor Andriy Sadovyi has expressed concerns about the possibility of a new large-scale Russian strike. This move highlights the ongoing vulnerability of Ukrainian cities, even those farther from the front lines.

Readiness Measures for Potential Emergencies

As part of its emergency preparedness plan, Lviv has activated a state of readiness. The primary recommendations for businesses include ensuring:

  • autonomous power supply;
  • logistics for a minimum two-week fuel supply;
  • sufficient stockpiles of essential goods.

Essential goods specifically include bread, water, hygiene products, and baby food.

Andriy Moskalenko emphasized the importance of ensuring that businesses and retail chains can continue operating under difficult conditions. Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated:

"Russia does not plan to strike Ukraine before February 1." - Dmitry Peskov

Despite this statement, Lviv is preparing for potential challenges by stockpiling supplies to sustain the population in case of an emergency.

This initiative reflects the local government's commitment to safeguarding residents amid ongoing military threats. Precautionary measures like stockpiling essential goods can significantly mitigate risks associated with emergencies. The Kremlin's response to these concerns underscores the persistent regional tension, which continues to cause alarm among Ukrainian citizens and officials.
