On August 17, a farewell ceremony was held in Lviv for 30-year-old soldier Ihor Severenchuk, who died in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. He left behind his parents, wife, son, and brother. This was reported by the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi.

"The operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region has a terrible price. We must understand this and remember those who pay it," he emphasized.

The Lviv community also said goodbye to 43-year-old Lviv resident Lyubomyr Kramarivskyi, who died in Sumy region. He left behind his parents, pregnant wife, one-year-old daughter, and brother.

Sadovyi added that the last funeral procession was held for 44-year-old Lviv resident Heorhiy Okul, who died in Luhansk region. He left behind his mother, sisters, nephews, and beloved girlfriend.

Recall that the Defense Forces gained control over the village of Borki in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

As reported, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued to advance another 1 to 3 kilometers in the Kursk region in the penultimate day.

A military commandant's office was established in the Ukrainian-controlled territory of the Kursk region. This was reported by the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine control 82 settlements, have advanced 35 kilometers, and cover more than a thousand square kilometers of territory in the Russian Federation.
