Drone Attack on Kiev: How People Survived in a Ruined Apartment in Frost.
According to ТСН: On December 23, a Russian combat drone hit the roof of a five-story building in the capital. The massive explosion destroyed apartments in the shock area, damaged the gas pipeline, and left people without windows in the frost.
Correspondents reported on the aftermath of this attack.
Condition of the Injured: Two in Critical Condition
Five people were injured as a result of the attack, most of them suffering cuts from glass shards.
16-year-old girl: among the injured, received necessary assistance.
48-year-old woman: is in the hospital with severe shrapnel wounds. A total of three people were hospitalized, two of them in stable critical condition.
"It lifted me up": How Residents Survived
Most residents were safe as they are used to seeking shelter or following the 'two walls' rule. Ms. Valentina, who lives near the site of the explosion, recalls how it all happened.
"I was sitting on the toilet when it went off - it literally lifted me up! I hear everything flying out," the woman recounts.
In the neighboring apartments, the situation is even worse. People returning from work find their homes with broken doors and completely destroyed interiors.
Elimination of Aftermath: Frost Dictates the Conditions
Rescuers, technicians, and gas workers are operating at the scene. The building was disconnected from the gas network due to a pipe damage on the ground floor.
Roof: The explosion scattered the asbestos roof, local officials are urgently dismantling the damaged beams.
Windows: At least 7 apartment buildings were damaged. Given the night temperature forecast, it will drop to -10°C, the windows are being temporarily sealed with plywood and foil.
Cars: Dozens of cars in the yard were damaged by debris.
The police of Kiev reported that a support tent was set up near the site of the explosion. There, investigators are receiving damage reports, and psychologists are offering assistance to the victims.
A local school has also set up a support point, where documents for financial payments from the city can be requested.

This tragedy once again highlights the complicated situation in the country, where the civilian population continues to suffer from the hostilities. The consequences of the explosion could be far-reaching and affect not only the physical condition of those affected but also their mental well-being.
