Volunteers rescued a dog from the ruins in Druzhkivka: how the unique operation unfolded.
According to ТСН: In Olexiyivo-Druzhkivka, volunteers conducted a complex rescue operation, freeing a Shar Pei dog named Viva. This animal spent a month trapped on the fifth floor of a destroyed building after shelling.
Local volunteers learned about the situation after noticing Viva in a window, but could not reach her. Due to the constant threat, rescuers from the State Emergency Service could no longer conduct operations in the city, leaving the dog without help.
Challenges of the rescue
When the ARK rescue team arrived on the scene, it turned out that all the stairs to the apartment were completely destroyed. The only way out was to climb to the roof of the neighboring entrance and transition to the upper apartment.
Viva's reaction
Despite spending a month in isolation, Viva survived. When the rescuers finally reached her, the dog greeted them with great joy. Volunteers noted that her reaction could be described as 'incredible' and 'heartbreaking.'
Viva's future
Viva is currently at the ARK center, where she is undergoing treatment and recovery. Volunteers note that she is very gentle and is already looking for a new home and a loving family.
This story vividly demonstrates the importance of volunteer work and the ability of people to help homeless animals in difficult conditions. We hope that Viva will soon find her family and live a happy life surrounded by love and care.
