New Year in the Frost: Forecasters Told What the Weather Will Be Like on December 31.
According to ТСН: In Ukraine, the year 2025 will end with the beauty of winter landscapes. On Wednesday, December 31, snowfalls and frost are expected. Icy conditions may form on the roads.
In the nearest night, the temperature will drop to -3 to -7°C. It will be even colder in the east and northeast of Ukraine - -4 to -9°C. During the day on Wednesday, most regions are forecasted to experience -2 to -5°C.
In Kyiv, cold weather with snow and strong gusts of wind is expected on December 31. They predict -7°C at night and about -5°C during the day.
Forecast for the First Days of January
On Thursday, January 1, and Friday, January 2, frosts will persist. At night, the temperature will drop to -7 to -14°C. During the day on January 1, -4 to -7°C is expected, and already on January 2, temperatures will start to rise.
'It will be frosty and snowy for the New Year. Afterwards, from January 2-3, it will warm up, but frosty waves will still come,' the forecaster's message says.
Forecasters also noted that in January 2026, the average monthly temperature will be below normal, while the amount of precipitation will remain within the norm.
Thus, Ukrainians will celebrate the New Year in a winter atmosphere, which implies the traditional cold weather with snow. At the same time, at the beginning of January, a gradual warming is expected, allowing to enjoy the festive days in more comfortable conditions.
