On St. Nicholas Day, Ukraine will experience a cooling: forecasters provided a forecast.
According to ТСН: The upcoming weekend, when we celebrate St. Nicholas Day, will bring changes in the weather. It will become noticeably colder in Ukraine as a cool air mass arrives, lowering temperatures, especially at night. However, no precipitation is expected.
This was reported by the forecaster on her Telegram channel.
Anticyclone and temperature contrasts
The weather over the weekend in all regions of Ukraine will be influenced by an anticyclone. This means that on December 6 and 7, no significant precipitation is expected. However, a brisk wind from the east may bring some discomfort.
Residents of the southern part of the country should be particularly cautious, as stormy wind gusts of up to 15-20 meters per second are possible.
At night, temperatures will fluctuate between 2 degrees Celsius and -4 degrees. During the day on December 6-7, thermometers will show +2…+6 degrees. It will be warmest in Transcarpathia and southern Crimea, where temperatures may reach +7…+11 degrees.
Weather in Kyiv and warnings for drivers
In the capital on St. Nicholas Day and Sunday, dry but cool weather is also forecasted. At night, a slight frost (-1…-3 degrees) may occur, while during the day temperatures will range from +1…+4 degrees.
Forecasters warn pedestrians and drivers: due to overnight freezing, roads and sidewalks may become slippery, so they recommend being particularly cautious.
Forecasters also noted that this winter, temperature fluctuations between warmth and frost are expected in Ukraine, with deviations from the normal average daily temperature.
Such changes in the weather are important for preparations for celebrations, as safe conditions on roads and streets remain relevant during this period. It is necessary to consider the forecasters' predictions so that the holidays can pass safely and comfortably.
