Explosion in a Private House in Uhornyky
According to ТСН: At around 20:46 in the village of Uhornyky, which is part of the Otyniya community, an explosion occurred in a private house. As a result of the detonation of an F1 grenade, a 13-year-old boy died, and his stepfather suffered severe injuries and died in the hospital a few days later.
The police of the Ivano-Frankivsk region reported that the explosion happened due to the illegal storage of ammunition. A 24-year-old man purchased an F1 grenade and kept it in his home. The owner's younger brother found this grenade and activated it, leading to the tragedy.
The law enforcement authorities detained the man under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and notified him of suspicion under part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons, military ammunition or explosive substances). The court chose a preventive measure for him – detention.
The procedural leadership in this case is carried out by the Kolomyia District Prosecutor's Office, and the police are conducting operational-search activities to establish all persons involved in the sale of explosive items.
Law enforcement officers emphasize that found or purchased explosive items pose a lethal danger. In case of detection, it is necessary to urgently report to the line '102'.
This tragic incident highlights the seriousness of the problem of illegal trafficking of ammunition in Ukraine. Such incidents not only take lives but also undermine safety in communities. Law enforcement agencies urge citizens to be cautious and responsible when handling explosive items.
