According to ТСН: A horrific murder has taken place in the Poltava region – a 44-year-old son has taken the life of his father.

Circumstances of the crime

According to the information from the regional prosecutor's office, the tragedy occurred on the first day of the new year. During a conflict between the son and his 70-year-old father, the son, being in a state of intoxication, expressed dissatisfaction that his father had not started the stove and resorted to violence.

"On the first day of 2026, a family conflict arose between the 44-year-old man and his 70-year-old father. While in a state of intoxication, the son dragged his father from the bed to the floor and beat him with a metal bar. After that, he dragged him into the kitchen and continued to kick him," the agency's message states.

Consequences of the crime

According to a preliminary expert's conclusion, the victim received at least 20 blows to the head and body, leading to his death.

The son has been charged with intentional murder, and the court has chosen a preventive measure – detention.
